Instructional Activities

  1. Distribute the handout “State of the Union Address” (Attachment L). Explain that the State of the Union address is an important way for a President’s agenda to be communicated to the public and the policy-makers in Washington.

  2. Ask them to read the first section and respond in the lines provided. Then, ask them to complete the reading and write a short essay on the last page.
