Session 18: Powers of the Executive Branch

Instructional Activities
- Ask students to turn to Article II of the Constitution of the United States. Ask one student to read Section 2 aloud.
- Pair students and ask them to reread this passage. As they reread, ask them to create a list of the duties and powers of the President.
- Ask students to list aloud the duties and powers they found. Write these on the board or an overhead. Instruct students to write down any powers they did not have in their notebooks for tomorrow's activity.
- Explain that tomorrow they are going to create a poster that illustrates the President's powers.
