Session 8: Separation of Powers
Materials
- Markers or colored pencils
- Chart paper or bulletin board paper strips
Instructional Activities
- Ask students to draw a graphic organizer using only pictures to represent the separation of powers between the branches of government and the system of checks and balances (nonverbal pictorial representation).
- Post the drawings around the room. Select students to describe the two concepts, using someone else's work.
