Family Traditions
Materials
- Teacher-selected book about family traditions
- 5”x 5” pieces of cardboard (1 per student)
- Crayons or markers
- Large piece of butcher paper
- Glue
Instructional Activities
- Read a teacher-selected book to the students about family traditions.
- Solicit ideas from students about their family traditions.
- Have them illustrate one family tradition (e.g., clothing, music, food, decorations, dances) on the 5”x5” square of cardboard.
- Have students glue their square on the butcher-block paper to form a quilt. Hang the quilt in the classroom.
